"Quadratic Universe" Wong Chak Hung. Tenme Kwan Duo Solo Exhibition

Cheer Bell Gallery is proud to present “Quadratic Universe” Wong Chak Hung. Tenme Kwan Duo Solo Exhibition in Hong Kong. 

Wong Chak Hung and Tenme Kwan are a pair of well-known Hong Kong artist as well as couple. The exhibition features 32 oil paintings from early period of Wong Chak Hung that reflects the development of his distinctive style, and 10 cement sculptures by Tenme Kwan. New artworks which have never been open to public is included in this Hong Kong exhibition.


Artists Introduction

Wong Chak Hung: Everything started from oil paintings

   Wong Chak Hung graduated from The Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1989.  His distinctive style of the painted MTR mosaic squares is significantly recognizable since millennium.  In this exhibition, visitors will have the chance to appreciate 32 oil paintings Wong produced between 1990 and 2000 and experience the development process of Wong’s artistic style.  Wong’s artworks are widely collected by academic organizations and private collectors such as Hong Kong Heritage Museum, University Museum and Art Gallery, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Baptist University.


Tenme Kwan: Illustrating ink art with mud and cement

   Kwan is also a local artist specialized in Chinese ink art.  She graduated from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, majoring in Traditional Chinese painting.  She furthers her study in oil painting the same academy in 1992.  Now she is one of the most popular artist in Hong Kong.  Kwan has a strong passion in farming and Mother Nature.  Her organic farm on the rooftop of the industrial building her art studio situated in is the root of her arts.  Through her intriguing sculptures, Kwan tried to explore a new kind of ink patterns resembling Chinese ink-painting, as well as to discuss the relationship among cities, nature and human.
