“Quadratic Universe” Wong Chak Hung. Tenme Kwan Duo Solo Exhibition_Wong Chak Hung



   Wong Chak Hung and Tenme Kwan are a pair of well-known Hong Kong artist as well as couple. They both graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Wong Chak Hung’s series on MTR mosaic is a great hit among collectors. He will be holding his retrospective exhibition in a San Francisco Museum later in 2016 to 2017. Meanwhile Tenme Kwan’s is well known for her series of sculptures—The Harvest that fuses the crops she grows with Chinese ink by “stirring” mud and cement together. The way Kwan assembled a mesmerizing visual of Chinese contemporary ink art is impressive.



Everything started from oil paintings


Wong Chak Hung graduated from The Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1989.  His distinctive style of the painted MTR mosaic squares is significantly recognizable since millennium.  In this exhibition, visitors will have the chance to appreciate 32 oil paintings Wong produced between 1990 and 2000 and experience the development process of Wong’s artistic style.  Wong’s artworks are widely collected by academic organizations and private collectors such as Hong Kong Heritage Museum, University Museum and Art Gallery, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Baptist University.
