“Quadratic Universe” Wong Chak Hung. Tenme Kwan Duo Solo Exhibition_Tenme Kwan
Wong Chak Hung and Tenme Kwan are a pair of well-known Hong Kong artist as well as couple. They both graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Wong Chak Hung’s series on MTR mosaic is a great hit among collectors. He will be holding his retrospective exhibition in a San Francisco Museum later in 2016 to 2017. Meanwhile Tenme Kwan’s is well known for her series of sculptures—The Harvest that fuses the crops she grows with Chinese ink by “stirring” mud and cement together. The way Kwan assembled a mesmerizing visual of Chinese contemporary ink art is impressive.

Kwan is also a local artist specialized in Chinese ink art. She graduated from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, majoring in Traditional Chinese painting. She furthers her study in oil painting the same academy in 1992. Now she is one of the most popular artist in Hong Kong. Kwan has a strong passion in farming and Mother Nature. Her organic farm on the rooftop of the industrial building her art studio situated in is the root of her arts. Through her intriguing sculptures, Kwan tried to explore a new kind of ink patterns resembling Chinese ink-painting, as well as to discuss the relationship among cities, nature and human.
