In 1974 Salvador Dali created a series of etching works entitled “After 50 Years of Surrealism”. The 12 hand-colored etchings that compose “After 50 Years of Surrealism” display personal events in Dali’s own life. These works continually challenge convention by questioning the antithesis of surrealism: our normal sense of the "real."
This is one of the 12 etching (dry prints) work with stencil coloring, on Rives paper, hand-signed and numbered by Dali, published in 1974. In good condition, only one piece.

Like Alice in Wonderland, Dalí travelled a long and arduous road through the land of dreams, by means of his artistic expression. The artist was drawn to both the incredible story and the extravagant characters in this intoxicating fairytale. Alice is one of Dalí's favorite images. Looking at Dalí's work we see that Alice’s hands and hair have blossomed into roses symbolizing feminine beauty and eternal youth. The Grecian drapes of her dress symbolize antiquity and the beauty that is respected throughout the ages.
